Realise the swing that you are capable of... David Blair can show you how!
How many books have been written on the subject, how many views and opinions expressed and yet, there are so many diverse ideas that it's sometimes hard to believe that all this myraid of material is all about one series of body movements which is completed in less than two seconds. Can the swing really be that complicated or has the golf business over complicated things. I suppose when we sit down and think about it, the very fact that there is no agreed 'correct swing' concept or ideas laid down by the golfing authorities, has left the subject open to anyone's interpretation. This website, is Swingbuild Golf's attempt to cut through so much of the confusion and bring a little clarity and simplicity back to the game. If we look at a good golf swing with an open mind, are there certain points that we can't argue against. They are so obvious that they are set in stone! Movement number one is the swing has to the body; can we all agree that it rotates around some axis points. On the backswing the shoulders twist pulling the lower half with them. On the down and through swing the move is generated from the hips, the legs and top part of the body, simply respond. All good players move in this way. The higher up the handicap scale we go, the less we see this move preformed correctly. Poor rotation on backswing and force from the upper arms and shoulders on the down and through swing.
Movement number two is the speed move of the wrists and forearms. This results in a real fast snappy release of energy at impact. Done correctly, the move generates 85% of the total clubhead speed. Once again, all good players do this; it's a fundamental law of the correct golf swing. When we look at the mechanics of the swing, these two combined, are the only two energy producing components we need look for. (Timing, tempo and rhythm add another dimension and more energy but we will not include them with swing mechanics).
The third main component is probably the least understood, and this is the all important control area of the upper arms and shoulders. Imagine (or try for real) moving your shoulder blades around when putting and see how much destruction it causes your stroke, you just can't get the ball on line. Why then, do we allow this movement to happen with all other clubs in the bag when the shoulders are equally destructive with any shot. We are going to be using the word connection, understanding that connection equals control. All top players turn through the ball with their shoulders down and relaxed (when they are playing well). Good connection will take the golfer through all the positions and angles that can lead to so much confusion.
The clinics are done in groups and are suitable for beginners/novices through to expert golfers and anyone in-between and include golf balls, all training aids, student development manual and video analysis, the duration is approximately 3 ½ hours (2½ hours of instruction). Golf equipment is provided if required. The student can also request a DVD/CD of their video footage that is taken during the clinic.
My Personal Guarantee
